BrightCorner Global School (“BrightCorner”, “we”, “us”) is a pre-primary school at Plot no. 208, SLN Center, Sakkubai Nagar, Sai Baba Temple Road, Shaikpet, Hyderabad 500008. We take the privacy of families seriously, and we are especially careful with information about children.
This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not to protect us — if anything here is unclear, please ask.
1. Information we collect
When you enquire
Through the enquiry form, WhatsApp, phone or email, we collect: parent or guardian name, phone number, email address where given, your child’s name and date of birth where you provide them, the programme you are interested in, how you heard about us, and anything else you choose to tell us in the message field.
When your child is enrolled
For enrolled children we hold: the child’s full name, date of birth, photograph, address, birth certificate and immunisation records, allergy and medical notes, emergency contacts, the list of adults authorised to collect the child, attendance records, developmental observations, and fee and payment records.
When you use the website
Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and, where enabled, anonymous visitor analytics. We do not use the website to build advertising profiles of visitors.
Confirm before publishing: List every third-party service the site actually loads — Google Analytics, Meta pixel, the Instagram feed plugin, the WhatsApp click-to-chat plugin, embedded YouTube and Google Maps. Each of these sets cookies and must be named here.
2. Children’s information
Information about a child is collected from, and with the consent of, that child’s parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, children’s data is treated as a special category, and we do not use it for advertising, tracking or behavioural profiling of any kind.
Photographs and video
We photograph and film children during the school day for records, for parent updates, and for our website and social media accounts. Use on our website, Instagram or YouTube happens only where a parent has given written consent, recorded separately from this policy.
Consent is not required for your child to attend, and refusing it changes nothing about your child’s place or experience with us. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to info@brightcorner.in. We will remove the images from our own channels promptly. We cannot recall images that others have already downloaded or re-shared, which is why we ask you to think about this carefully before consenting.
3. How we use information
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a school visit
- To admit and enrol your child, and to run the school day safely
- To contact you about your child, including in an emergency
- To keep attendance, developmental and fee records
- To send school notices, and — only if you opted in — our newsletter
- To meet legal, regulatory and safeguarding obligations
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only where it is necessary:
- Staff members, limited to what each role requires
- Service providers who operate our website, hosting, email and fee systems
- Medical professionals or emergency services, if your child needs urgent care
- Government or regulatory bodies, where we are legally required to disclose
Confirm before publishing: Our enquiry form is processed by Formspree, which stores submissions on servers outside India. Since the form collects a child’s name and date of birth, name Formspree here explicitly as a processor and confirm the retention setting in their dashboard. Also name your website host, fee or ERP system, email provider, and any transport or catering partner.
5. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not result in admission are kept for a limited period and then deleted. Records of enrolled children are kept for the duration of enrolment and for a defined period afterwards, in line with our legal obligations. Fee and accounting records are kept for the period required by tax law.
Confirm before publishing: Set the actual retention periods — e.g. enquiries 12 months, student records 7 years after leaving, accounting records as your auditor advises. Vague retention language is a common compliance failure.
6. How we protect it
Access to records is restricted to staff who need it. Physical records are kept secured on the premises. Digital records are held on password-protected systems. We ask staff to keep everything they learn about a family confidential, both during and after their employment.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will tell you and the relevant authority as required by law.
7. Your rights
You may ask us to:
- Show you the information we hold about you and your child
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete information, where we are not legally required to keep it
- Withdraw consent for photographs, the newsletter, or WhatsApp messages
- Explain how a particular piece of information is being used

8. Grievances
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact our grievance officer:
Confirm before publishing: Name a grievance officer with a direct email address. The DPDP Act requires a named contact, not a general enquiry inbox.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and will change the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your child’s information, we will tell you directly rather than relying on you noticing.
